...new words!! I would go as far to say that I am a word junkie, as evidenced by the amount of word games I play over at Facebook!!
In my studies of historical events I was reading up on the Zoot Suit Riots. Fascinating subject...revolves around events in LA during WWII between sailors and the local Chicanos.
Anywho...back to my new word....
Pachuco
It refers to the Chicanos/Mexicano youths who wore the Zoot Suits during this time period! I had to go to some of the Mexicans (so not being racist...we simply have a LARGE amount of Mexican men and women who work here!) here and test my new word out. They find me funny and laugh, but then look impressed when I can explain the origination of the word! Hmm...my studying is paying off!! LOL!!!
I find it funny that we learn Spanish slang constantly here at work, and then I find them when studying too!! Too funny....

That's funny...as soon as I saw the word "Pachuco" I remember this from a class I took about the history of Mexican Gangs. It was a great class and along with the Zuit suites was (as the instructor called them) Chiney Choes. It was alot more informative than just gangs...it had alot of cultural insight.
I love learning about different ethnicities and cultures since I come from two totally different races. Japanese (dad) and Italian (mom)
Anyway, I meant to tell you in your last post, you are in my prayers and I am sure you will do just fine on your BIG test :O)
