Yep, another contest...

....that I'm a finalist for! Seriously people you need to go sign up and starting entering contests on whogets.com!!! This is my third contest finale in less than a month!

This time you are voting for me to win Animatrix DVD....what is it? Um...yeah, I'm not quite sure. But if you vote for me, and I win I'll let all of you watch it with me!

Go Vote! Be Happy!

I almost bought a.....

.....new car tonight! I was in the finance office ready to sign on a 2005 Dodge Neon! However, due to some different information given by the salesman and information told to me by the finance manager Charlie and I walked out the door. That's alright...we are going car shopping again...and hopefully by this time next week I'll have a new car.

But wait....want to hear what I did buy?

Oh Yeah!

Yesterday I went shopping and picked up a few items:
  • computer
  • printer
  • digital camera
  • accessories: computer bag, usb cables, memory disc, mouse, and batteries

So much fun! Now wait...even better....with rebate I bought my computer for only $350...they were on clearance for $500 and have a $150 rebate.....I was estatic about my purchases yesterday.

Since I spent so little on a computer I splurged and bought a new digital camera! Now to have fun with all my new toys!

PPP Love

So what is PPP Love? Well, first you have to understand what PPP is? It stands for Payperpost and it is this great company that pays YOU to make money on your own personal blog. All you have to do is write!! To date (and I've been doing this since October) I have made $1379...not a bad chunk of change. Not nearly as much as others, but for now I'm happy with what I've made!

My second reason for sending out PPP love tonight is that I received a cool green box in the mail today! The address I have on file with PPP is a private mail box, in Enumclaw, that only gets checked once every month or sometimes longer. Well, I went and checked it today and along with the rest of my mail was a green box from PPP!!! I was wondering, "Hmm...what could this be..." So I opened it (that is generally what you do with packages) and low and behold there were some PPP goodies AND the new POLICE CD....WOW, I totally wasn't expecting it. Why did I receive a Police CD...well, one of my paid posts was on the Police (check it out). I knew they were giving away CD's but I didn't think I would be in the running for it. It is a great two disc set of all their greatest music...can't wait to put it on the Ipod!

Thanks PPP for everything. I enjoy being a part of the PPP team...if YOU are thinking that this sounds like a great idea (you are right), click on the PPP icon on the right and get started today!

Silver Investing

I have always been one to think that gold is the way to go! It is shinier, more expensive and more valuable...at least that is what I have always thought. However, did you know that silver is an excellent material to invest in? Now don't get me wrong...gold is still a great investment and probably one of the most sought after investments; however, expand your horizons and invest in silver as well. Monex Deposit Company is one of America's leading precious metals investment companies, and has been for over 30 years. How you purchase and invest your silver is up to you. You can either purchase conveniently shaped and sized bullion casts or purchase ingots or coins. However you want your silver it can either be safely delivered to your home or to a safe depository! Now is the time to buy as the world demand for silver is at all time high, exceeding the annual production...which means that silver is worth more than ever right now! Start investing smartly, buy silver!

Drug Rehab

Do you know that there are thousands (if not millions) of men and women who suffer from drug and alcohol dependency. And quite frankly, they need help. Hopefully, (and prayerfully), they have friends and family who are supporting them to get help and end the vicious cycle of death that they put themselves through. I haven't gone through this situation personally, but I do have members of my extended family that suffer from drug and alcohol addiction and I know how hard it is for them and their family members. The Stone Hawk program is a drug rehabilitation treatment center that is in Battle Creek, Michigan. They are an internationally known facility as they are a holistic drug rehab center. Meaning that the focus on more than just getting drug free...they look to make your life healthier. The main way of achieving this is by use of saunas to sweat out the toxins in your body! They have had very impressive results in their program. They also don't have a set of morals and codes for the residents, but let each individual create their own morals and codes that they can live by. Obviously that is going to be different for everyone, but more importantly gives them realistic expectations to live by. If you you anyone that could benefit from this program you should check it out.

Happy Friday

My sister and Ernie had to come over today for some class they have to take for work! So who came with them? Maddy, Mason and Brittany! We've played a few rousing rounds of Candy Land...old school style, I think everyone won at least one game! If you ever have a hankerin' for Candy Land call me and I'll bring it over!!!

So we are sitting here trying to decide what to do! Lunch....park.....McDonald's? I guess we'll figure something out! What happened to the nice weather we had yesterday?

Well, I hope you have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend! Got any big plans? I have to work!

Sun, Surf and Sand

Ok, raise your hand if you like to build sand castles!!! Are you the total artsy fartsy type that goes all out, bringing all sorts of different size buckets, shovels and other accessories to help you build that perfect sandcastle? Or are you like me? One bucket and one shovel and you just have fun? I love making sandcastles. Why? Because it means that I am at the beach somewhere warm and relaxing....sipping Long Island Ice Teas, Reading a book and listening to music.....oops...back to the sandcastles!!

Well most of you know that those of us here in the Pacific Northwest don't have the greatest beaches for making sandcastles...not like that white pristine sand down in the Caribbean. But now you don't even have to leave home to make that perfect sandcastle! You can make your own special castle online!!! Beaches Resort has made it easy to build a sandcastle online! You can use different sides to your castle, turrets, tops with windows and more. Then you can add accessories, change the color of your sandcastle and more. Then when you save it you can send it to friends and families to show off your great castle making skills!! You even get to name this great castle you made....mine is aptly named Rachel Ann's Place....I know no imagination!!

If you want to let your kids each make their own sandcastle what a great opportunity you have right at your fingertips! I thought it was totally simple to make this ecard...and so will your kids. Who knows you might have a budding sandcastle extradornaire in your midst. Check it out before you head out to the real beach so you can get some ideas rolling around in your head how you want your one of a kind, fantastic sandcastle to look......just watch out for those waves that come rolling in and wanting to destroy!!!

One more thing....once done making yours go back to the site and check out the galleries of sand castles that others made...they are really neat and original!

Happy Birthday Sean

Happy Birthday to my cousin Sean!!!! (Sean if you see this...I "stole" one of your pictures!)

This is an amazing man of God!! I may not know him as well as I could because of the distance between us (physically and age); however, I know that he has done great things for God. He has taken his God given music abilitites and done amazing things...he sings, plays guitar and gives all the glory to God. One of the greatest presents you can give him is to visit Sean Saugen's Myspace site and listen to his music!

Pay attention!! This young man is going places!

Sean Love ya lots and wish all the best for you this year and for years to come!

New Music Website

I love music...it can calm the savage beast; get a crowd on its feet; be the backdrop of any momentous occasion or simply be the words and lyrics that you sing along with! How does an individual find out about up and coming music though? Well, let me tell you!! There is a site that lets you know about new unsigned bands and their tour dates (alas, the tours are in the UK...but I have friends in the UK and the love music too). However, you can take a look at these unsigned chart with free music downloads...yep, you can listen and download before you decide to go see them in concert! How many bands do you know that let you listen and download before coming out to a concert? Not many! So listen away, pick your favorites and if you are in the UK head out to a great concert for an evening of fun...you might chose to see Athlete, Charlotte Hatherley, Gentlemen of Distort or even Dream Capture or Forgotten Sleep...Have Fun!!!

Happy Birthday Mom

Mom,

Happy Birthday to a wonderful mother! You know when you are going through difficult situations you don't always see God's hand right away. I know that on your birthday 34 years ago you were preparing for the birth of your first child. A few weeks later she was gone...and I'm sure that it felt like the world was coming to an end. However, God gave me to you one year later, and He would not have been able to do that if circumstances were different. I'm glad that I am one of those children who were handpicked to be part of a family! God definitely placed me with you and Dad for a reason.

You are the one who helped guide my footsteps towards God. Remember when our family stopped going to Catholic church (I'm sure your in-laws and parents thought you guys jumped off the deep end and took your precious innocent children on a road leading straight to hell!), and then you started visiting all sorts of churches? Who was always with you? Me!! And we visited some strange little churches.....then you decided that your children were going to be a part of the youth group whether they wanted to or not so you invited the pastor to have youth group at our house!!!!

We've yelled at each other, you've chased me around the house with a wooden spoon, you've grounded me, you've tried to wash my mouth out with soap....but you've always been there for me, Shannon and Camille.

I hope you have a fantastic birthday!!!!

Love
Rachel Ann

PS....are you ok with me telling your friends that I am your oldest daughter at almost 33?!!!!!

The Sneeze

They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the already crowded auditorium. With rich maroon gowns flowing and the traditional caps, they looked almost as grown up as they felt. Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away tears. This class would not pray during the commencements----not by choice, but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.

The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.

The speeches were nice, but they were routine.....until the final speech received a standing ovation. A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then, it happened. All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED!!!!

The student on stage simply looked at the audience and said, "GOD BLESS YOU, each and every one of you!" And he walked off stage... The audience exploded into applause. The graduating class found a unique way to invoke God's blessing on their future with or without the court's approval. Isn't this a wonderful story?

Pass it on to all your friends........and GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

This is a true story; happened at the University of Maryland.

Faith is not knowing that God can...It is knowing that God Will

Celebrity Gossip

What celebrity gossip do you think is hot and what celebrity gossip do you think is not? Now there is a website that allows you (and we are the ones who count!) to vote on hot celebrity gossip. Don't you love websites that give us the regular public the opportunity to have the power?!? The celebrity gossip that you might be voting on includes items such as: David Hasselhoff getting his kids; Bob Barker retiring; visiting day for Paris Hilton; Lindsay Lohan's birthday party getting cancelled; Julia Roberts had third baby (Henry...what a cute name).....and much, much more! I think I would vote for Julia...just because I think she is a classy lady and her and Danny Moder having kids is fun to watch! Plus she always gives such odd names to her children that you wonder if she is going to go too far into left field with the names!! Did I tell you that you can leave comments when you vote as well? Well, you can! Which is good for people like me who like to talk!!!

School's Out....

....and I'm done working for the summer! Ugh! As a substitute teacher it is hard to see the end of another school year as it means that I don't have an income throughout the summer. If I was an actual teacher (and I will be in about two years) then my paycheck would go through the summer....which means that I would actually get to enjoy the summer and not worry about money coming in and bills getting paid. But in all actuality I don't worry about money coming in and bills getting paid as God takes care of me!!! I have a few part time jobs that I work throughout the summer and it seems to take care of me! Although all the free time I have during the day is a bit overwhelming!! Sometimes I'm not sure what to do with myself. I am getting homework done!!! And I think I might go see a movie today......if you have any ideas let me know!

Happy Summer!!!

Survival 101

Ok....imagine this if you will....you are stranded in a strange city (far from the place you call home and the people you call friends)....you have no money and no resources (and in my case you can't call Daddy to come help you out!!). What would you do? How would you survive? How would I eat and have coffee every morning? Where would I sleep? The list of questions could go on and on.......

....that is the question about the new USA Network's Burn Notice show! This is a spy show on the USA Network. I love everything spy....I don't know a lot about it, but it seems fascinating!

So...here's what I would do! Obviously, if you are running or hiding from someone or something you can't use your cell phone unless you are incredibly intelligent and can make something else from it...which I can't! So there is no one to call I'm on my own!!!

Food.....nothing wrong with a little beggin, especially from guys! They seem to like to help women out! There is also nothing wrong with hanging out behind restaurants looking for a little bit of extra food to possibly come your way! OR if you are really desperate head down to the local soup kitchen...there might actually some unsavory type people there to help you out on your mission (remember...this is tv!!).

Sleep.....youth hostels...YMCA (in foreign countries)...the local park underneath a bridge.....befriend someone really quick and give them some extraordinary sob story so they will take you into your home without really knowing you! Get arrested? Might not help the case, but hey it's free room and board, and they feed you!!

Money....go looking for spare change on the sidewalk....check out the floors of casinos (hey, I've done this and made a few bucks)....don't be ashamed to beg!.....steal.....find an under the table cash only king of job!

Finding my way home....."These boots are made for walkin', and that's just what they'll do...."

Seriously, I may not know exactly how to get out of a strange city with no resources, but I think I could do it! Watch Burn Notice to find out how main character Michael Westen figures it out! Show premiers June 28th at 10pm.

TV

Summertime sees the end of our regular tv shows until next fall! But it does see the arrival of all the summertime tv shows...shows that a lot of times don't get watched because they are simply fillers and kind of boring. However, every once in a while there is a show that surprises us all. For me that show is Kyle XY....it started last summer on ABC Family, and this year has gotten such rave reviews that it has been moved to the regular ABC lineup. It is about a boy found wandering around Seattle, naked and with NO belly button. Mysterious things surround him...the show is pretty much based on trying to figure out who Kyle is, where he came from and what happened to him. It is actuallly a great show...just thought I'd let you in a surprise summertime show! It airs tonight at 8pm on ABC.

Graduation Pictures

This is my dear friend Bethany! I love this girl. She is a precious gem, who loves to talk and is about as random as me if not more so.

Bethany was chosen by her fellow students to be the class speaker this year. For someone who was nervous going up, she knocked it over the wall and out of the ballbark! Way to go Bethany!

This is a so-so picture of all the first year students after receiving their certificates! They are a great group of 17 young men and women...although the men are greatly out numbered...I think we have six! Yikes! Congratulations and Way to Go! I know that we will see pastors, teachers, womens ministers, youth ministers, great moms and dads!!

These are our second year students!

This is our new MC Director Andrew Gard. He is a great guy, and has great vision for this program. Andrew is a graduate of Northwest University, and is married to a sweet lady-Christina. He made the transition from our last director, Shannon, to him very smooth! Watch out, you are going to see great things from him!

This is our senior pastor, Roger Archer. Roger is one of the greatest pastors I have ever known. He is honest, he is hilariously funny, he loves to sing show tunes (and actually knows all the words to them...hmmm, maybe that is a bit weird!), he regularly shows clips of Jim Carrey's movie Liar Liar, and he preaches the Word like a man on Fire. I have totally enjoyed being under his leadership the last six years or so!

MC Graduation

I am home at 6:11pm on Sunday, June 10th...after waking up at 4:30am this morning! Why did I wake up so early? Well, our Masters Commission students graduated today! We had 17 first year students and 6 second year students finish strong this afternoon. But why 4:30 am? We had a ring cermony this morning for the students. We bought rings for the first year students, but wanted to give them to them in a more intimate moment than the stage of graduation. So I was at the church setting up by 5:30 am, the students came in about 6am, and we finished about 8am! It was a great time...we shared individually about each student and then prayed for them.

Then I still had running around to do this morning, and last minute things for this afternoon's graduation service. Once all that was done, then it was back at the church to coordinate those who were setting up for me....auditorium, lobby, etc....

Then we had graduation! It was very nice!

Then reception...I don't think I ate cake because I was making sure everything was ok and passing out thank you notes! I really need to remember to eat at these things!

Then it was clean up time.....I probably got home right around 5:30 ish! It was a long day! But a good day.

So, congratulations to:

First Year Students:

Holly~Jennifer~Thomas~Tina~Jamie~Jordan~Melissa~Jared~Lisa~Grace
~Donovan~Randy~Daniel~Hannah~Bethany~Brittany~Janna

Second Year Students:

Melissa~Joshua~Jonathan~Kimberly~Laura~Carol

These men and women of God finished strong and ran the race well!

Yeah for Me!

Hip-Hip-Hooray!!

I finished my first online class last week! Got my final paper report back yesterday, and.....

....PASSED my first class. Whoo-HOoo.

I truly haven't been putting the amount of time I should be into school; however, I am way ahead of the game and feel good about where I am! My school mentor was ever so gracious today and sent me a Congratulations Hallmark E-Card for passing! Isn't that nice? I agree.

Ok...time to buckle down and get the rest finished!!

PS....yeah for me...I got a pedicure today. OMG it felt so good. My Dad called as I was walking in the door and his comment was, "People really pay money for that?!" Sheesh Dad...not everyone just goes fishing!

I Love ME!

I don't have a husband. I don't have kids. I don't have animals. So basically, I have no "others" to put pictures up of (besides those family members that you see all the time). However, I do have a healthy self-esteem and think very highly of myself! These are just a few for you to enjoy of ME!! MOI!! MYSELF!!! I!!! I don't always get the zoom right when taking pictures of myself!! So at times the picture is quite a close up! But hey, come on--I've got a great smile!
No makeup...I need a haircut...rosy cheeks due to adult acne (I thought that stuff went away once you hit a certain age????). But hey...who cares. I love how I look all the time. Isn't great to love yourself? I tell people who complain about their looks that they are essentially complaining about how God made them! Aren't you glad you are a one of a kind individual made just by God!? I am!!! Yes, I could be healthier, lose some weight, do my hair more often....but I know God loves me just as I am!
HEY YOU GUYS!!!
Come on all you 80's movie watchers, what movie does that come from?

Supernatural

Do you believe in the supernatural or just what you can see with your own two eyes? Personally? I believe in the supernatural (just to let you know, I believe in God!). There are tons of people out there who don't believe anything unless they can see it with their own two eyes...they don't believe that there is good and evil spirits circling around in the supernatural realm. There is a new movie coming out that deals with this matter: Its called 1408--starring John Cusack (who happens to be one of my favorite actors). This 1408 movie is about a horror novelist who only believes what he can see with his own two eyes (amazing how horror novelists can write this stuf and not believe it!). Anywho, he checks into room 1408 at a hotel in New York City that lays claim to guests not checking out by noon!! This man believes that all the stories and fables of the famed room 1408 are only a hoax. He personally goes to check in and debunk all these myths.....(already sounds suspiciously like someone is going to get it!). The 1408 movie is about what happens to this author and whether or not he stays a believer of only what he sees or if he becomes a believer of the supernatural. Umm...so as much as I love John Cusack I'm not sure that I'll be going to see this movie. I believe too firmly that evil really does exist in the supernaturaly and I'm not sure I want to open myself up to the scenes and connotations that this movie will bring about. So what do you think? Does the supernatural really exist or is it a hoax?

Please Pray

I'm working with a couple of car places to try and get a new car!! I'll be honest, my credit isn't the greatest and I don't have a lot of income (at least on paper)....so I'm praying that God will provide financing anyway. Which of course I know He can and will....I just need all of this to go smoothly and for me to be in a new car within the month (hopefully within the next few weeks). So if you think about, please keep me and my financial and car needs in your prayers. Thank you so much! God Bless!

Want to Write My Paper?

Anyone up for writing a paper on Cognitive Development Theories? It only needs to be between 3-5 pages! Seriously....I'm doing well with school, but when I sit down in front of my computer my head starts to do that little nod, and then briskly shoots up! My eyelids start to fall then open nervously....I know it is all mental...that I'm not really tired when I sit down to type a paper; however, I feel asleep today for at least half an hour. Sheeshh....writing papers shouldn't be so hard.

I'm done with my first class though! Yeah!! I have three more classes this term...ends in October. For now, I am right on track, if in fact a little ahead of the ball game, which is good!

Anyway, if you'd like to write a paper for me don't hesitate to ask for the details! :)

Mason

Here is my favorite youngest nephew Mason. These are some pics I took while visiting over Memorial Day! Even though he looks so cute, he can be a stinker! But I love him anyway...how can I not when he is such a cutie patootie!

He was having a blast going up and down the slide...this must have be a set up for the next day when we went to the carnival in Moses Lake and all he did was go up and down the slide! Easily amused...I like that!

This is one of those rare pictures of him and me together! It looks like I'm squeezing him...I probably am. It was more than likely the only way I could get a picture of the two of us together!

This was one wasn't staged, and I wasn't forcing kisses on him! He let me kiss him and gave a kiss in return. Those moments when he actually gives you kisses (freely and not coerced) are the best! I have Maddy who gives kisses left and right, but Mason...you have to wait patiently for them! Sweet Suga'!

This is Mason! He'll be four in August...one more year and he'll be in school. Kind of funny is that is doesn't get to go to school this next year, yet his oldest brother Brandon is graduating next year....quite the age span there! Mason enters Kindergarten when the next in line to graduate starts his Senior year...Josh! When Mason graduates high school the three oldest should be finished with college, starting careers, and possibly be married with kids. When Mason graduates at 18, Brandon will be 31!!!! WOW!

Online Learning

So obviously I'm an advocate of online learning, as I am taking my Masters Degree through an online program. There are so many online learning programs out there that it is hard to determine which is the best, and what route is the best to go. I guess my suggestion would be to write out everything that interests you to narrow down a field that you are looking into, and then start researching online learning facilities that match up with what you are wanting to do. This is a great way to get an education. And education means more money in a lot of work positions out there. A lot of times online learning is less expensive than going to a four year university somewhere. The biggest advantage is that you get to go at your pace! Take a look and see if this works for your situation right now!

Freddie

Freddie...that's my car, decided to break down on the side of the road today. Not only was I in the car, but my sister Shannon was with me along with three kids. Yep, fun times. So, I admit part of it is my fault as I hadn't checked the water/antifreeze level for awhile. However, the fan belt is loose or something like that. Which is making the engine not get any air?? Because as it overheated, the heat indicator went up but nothing was coming out of my engine like you see with overheated cars. One of the MC kids and his friend took a look at it tonight and are going to try and fix it tomorrow during church for me....hopefully it'll get me through for a few more weeks. I guess push came to shove and I need to figure out how to buy a car now. I'm completely relying on a miracle, because I don't have extra cash, plus a monthly payment. I would if I wasn't moving, but....

....anyway. If you wouldn't mind praying out my vehicle situation that would be great!!
